We believe in….. Creedal Statement
A ‘Purpose Driven Church’
We believe that the church’s main priorities (or principals or purposes) are summed up in five words: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Mission. To this end we follow sermon series and small group courses to enable us to explore these themes and to enable our members to grow in understanding and faith.
These priorities are taken from Rick Warren’s book ‘Purpose Driven Life which has helped to shape many churches and many Christians around the world in the last few years.
What we do
St Peters Church is not so much a building but a family of believers. We are continuing the tradition of providing a place where people can discover God through Jesus, meet others and make friends, grow in love and understanding so that we can serve our community and help others to discover God’s love for them.
So, among other things, we have our Weekly Services, Seasonal Services, Housegroups, Social Events and projects such as the Bridge Project.
Our Mission Statement (written in 1977?) says this:
The church serves a parish of about 6,000 people which includes IKEA and a Retail Park, a Tudor mansion in a country park and a paint factory. We have 4 Junior Schools and a mixture of housing.
We do lots of things but there’s more we would like to do. Maybe you could help us do them.
