I'm Paul. I am married to Annette and we have three grown-up children: Emily, married to Pete with a daughter Amy and a son Thomas; Vicky; and Chris, married to Becky. We have two Red Setter dogs and enjoy Caravanning! We have also enjoyed a few holidays to the Dominican Republic and, as a result, have connections with several charities working with children there - see the Links page.
Hello, I'm Wendy. I am a Reader at St Peter's. I am married with two daughters (both are married and are teachers) and one granddaughter, Francesca. As Reader I assist the Vicar by leading services, preaching, taking funerals and teaching. My three years training in my 50s came quite hard but I managed it and now love my ministry.
I'm Leif Wilks, and from October 2006 I will be licenced as Reader, which means that I will be sharing with Wendy the privileges of leading worship, preaching, conducting funerals, and generally supporting Paul in the work of our Church community.
I'm Raymond, though most people call me Ray. I'm one of two elected Churchwardens and our role is to be a friend and adviser to the Vicar, Church Council and all who belong to the church. In particular I have to keep an eye on practical things such as the maintenance of the church building and the churchyard and make sure that the inventory of church property is kept up to date.
Hello. I'm Ann Lister. I'm married to Fred and have 2 children and 5 grand children and one cat. I am privileged to have been elected one of the Churchwardens and aim, with God's help, to support Paul our vicar, and our church community. Alongside Raymond I seek to keep the building in good order. My outside interests are our allotment and archaeology.
My name is Norma. I have lived in Birstall since 1967 attending St Peter's since that time. I was 'Brown Owl' for 25 years and since 2001 I have spent my time as the Verger with all its attendant duties.
I’m Alison Sowden, I’m married to David and we have one daughter. My role at St. Peters is as Lay Pastoral Minister and I’m privileged to serve God by helping anyone I can!
I am Margaret Carbutt. I am married with three children and a retired Nursery Nurse. I am part of the Pastoral Team at St Peter's. I help with St Peter's Playtime and, with my husband Brook, co-ordinate a 'Welcoming Team' and occasionally join with the Music Group.
My name is Solly. I have two married children, one dog and two cats! I have been attending St Peters since 2003. I help with Junior Church. I am training to be a Pastoral Assistant and already take Communion to a local residential home and visit the elderly on behalf of the church community.

Greetings! My name is Ben and I'm the Senior Muppet. I and my team are entertainers who also have a teaching role at St Peter's. One or two of us normally accompany the Vicar to School Assemblies and I'm told that the children look forward to our visits with great anticipation. Most of us are also, though I say it myself, talented singers. Look out for more about us on the 'Services' page.
